About the Strap: I designed this strap to complement the bold character of the 47mm Panerai Bronzo with 26mm lugs and a 22mm buckle. As with all my work, I craft each strap entirely by hand, using distinctive latigo leather with a soft matte finish. The rich matte green highlights the warm patina of the aged bronze case, creating a striking yet understated combination. For this version, I gave it a stronger taper for a sleeker, more balanced fit. I also added two keepers—one fixed, one floating—with clean, creased edges for a refined look.

I completed the stitching in a boxed pattern using olive green thread. The buckle in the photos is the OEM bronze buckle from the PAM00968, but it’s not included with the strap. You can use your own OEM buckle or choose a different option from the dropdown menu. This lets you pair the strap with other Panerai models as well.

I’ve shown the strap here on the PAM00968. The matte green tone contrasts beautifully with the oxidized bronze case and pairs well with dials in beige, tobacco, or even black. This strap adds a sophisticated, earthy edge to the Bronzo’s rugged design.

Note: This strap is not intended for diving and may change color if exposed to water.

Measurements:  This strap is 26/22, with a thickness of ~3.9mm.

Additional Information:

Each Panerai model requires a unique approach to strap design, depending on the watch’s size, shape, and overall character. For the Panerai Bronzo and other 47mm cases, I focus on thickness, symmetry, and balance to match their bold presence. The Bronzo’s 26mm lug width creates a hefty combination, so I embrace that weight and design with structure in mind. I use thick, firm leathers and build each Bronzo strap to average at least 5.0mm in thickness for durability.

The case’s curves and slope influence everything from taper proportions to buckle fit, resulting in a strong yet refined look. Rather than minimize bulk, I highlight it with wide keepers and robust proportions to complement the Bronzo’s substantial wrist presence. I box stitch most straps by hand for strength, though I sometimes use open-ended stitching depending on the chosen leather. I prefer vintage-style stainless pin buckles, sewn in, since they suit thicker straps and allow for tighter punch spacing.

For 26mm straps, I use heavier thread and wider stitch spacing than on my Radiomir or 44mm Luminor designs. Every strap is entirely handmade—no machines, no templates—just the simple tools I’ve used as a bootmaker for decades. Each strap I craft for the Panerai Bronzo is truly unique, designed to enhance the watch’s rugged yet elegant style.
