About the Strap: This thick brown Radiomir strap is a study in substantial craftsmanship, specifically engineered to complement the iconic silhouette of the Panerai Radiomir. At its core is a premium, chrome-tanned buffalo leather, selected for its signature pebbled texture and remarkable density. While the leather is impressively thick, providing a rugged and secure presence on the wrist, it remains exceptionally soft and supple from the first wear. This ensures that even a thick brown Radiomir strap of this caliber contours comfortably to the arm for all-day use without the typical stiffness of heavy-duty hides.

Every detail is executed with artisanal precision, beginning with the heavy-gauge, ivory white thread. Hand-stitched in a classic boxed pattern, this thick stitching creates a striking contrast against the rich brown buffalo leather, highlighting the strap’s handmade origins. The edges are finished with a decorative crease and meticulously hand-burnished for a smooth, high-end feel. To match the utilitarian elegance of the Radiomir, this design now features a brushed pre-V style buckle sewn firmly into place. This matte finish offers a sophisticated, tool-watch aesthetic that resists fingerprints and glare more effectively than traditional polished steel.

The strap is pictured here on the Panerai PAM00323 Radiomir 10 Days GMT, measuring 130/80mm with one fixed and one floating keeper. As with all Marcello Straps, this piece is 100% hand-cut and finished. While it ships with the brushed pre-V buckle by default, additional hardware options are available via the dropdown menu, and custom engravings can be arranged through a personal consultation to ensure your piece is truly unique.

Additional Information: For every Panerai model, I approach strap design with its own distinct philosophy. The Radiomir remains my long-standing favorite within the entire Panerai lineup. I bought my first Radiomir nearly twenty years ago, though I didn’t begin making straps for it until much later in life. Designing for the Radiomir is both enjoyable and technically demanding.

For larger Panerai cases around 47 mm, I typically use thicker thread with wider spacing. With the Radiomir, I vary both thread thickness and stitch density, mixing tight patterns with wider intervals. These choices always depend on the behavior of the specific leather. Most aftermarket Radiomir straps fall between 3.5 mm and 5.0mm, with the majority landing somewhere near the midpoint.

Radiomir wire lugs work best with softer, more flexible leathers. From a design perspective, I usually taper the straps to 27/22 or 26/22, depending on how the material responds. For larger 47 mm Radiomir cases such as the PAM00323, I advise a thickness of 4.5 mm or more. I’ve also produced bolstered-taper designs for these 47mm Radiomir models.
