Description
About the Leather: At 4.5mm thick, this soft black Panerai Radiomir strap brings serious presence to the wrist without sacrificing comfort. The leather is incredibly supple and pliable — it wraps around your wrist like it’s already broken in. The surface has a semi-matte black finish with just the right amount of sheen, and the lightly burnished brown edges give it a warm, vintage look that pairs beautifully with the classic Radiomir case. I built this one with a 27/22mm taper — thick enough to balance the 45mm and 47mm Radiomir models perfectly.
The stitching is all done by hand with a thick beige thread in a tight boxed pattern — clean, strong, and built to last. It comes fitted with a curved vintage-style pin buckle that’s sewn in place, exactly like the old-school straps Panerai used decades ago. The edges are creased for a refined finish, and it includes both a fixed and a floating keeper for that authentic, functional touch.
This strap has everything a Radiomir deserves — rugged character, comfort that only gets better with time, and a look that just feels right. It’s one of those pieces that makes you glance at your wrist a little longer than usual. Seen above on the Panerai Radiomir 8 Days PAM00992. The sample above measures 130/80.

Additional Information: For each Panerai watch, I use a unique design philosophy when creating straps. The Radiomir remains my historical favorite among all Panerai cases. I purchased my first Radiomir almost twenty years ago. I did not begin making straps for it until nearing retirement. The Radiomir is both fun and challenging to design custom straps for.
On larger Panerai cases around 47mm, I use thicker thread with wider spacing. For the Radiomir, I combine both thick and thin threads. I also mix tight stitching and wider spacing. Thread thickness and spacing always depend on the characteristics of the leather. Most aftermarket Radiomir straps range between 3.5mm and 5.0mm thick. The average thickness usually falls somewhere in the middle.
Radiomir wire lugs require softer, more pliable leathers. From a design standpoint, I usually taper straps to 27-22 or 26-22 depending on leather. For larger 47mm Radiomir cases, such as the PAM323, I recommend straps 4.5mm or thicker. I have also created straps with a bolstered taper for 47mm Radiomir models.
Please contact me before purchasing your custom Panerai Radiomir strap. I am happy to help guide your selection process. I take pride in every aftermarket Panerai strap I produce. Each strap is handmade entirely without templates or machines. Because of this, no two handmade straps are exactly identical.
