Dark Panerai Luminor 44mm Strap 24/24 “Black Walnut V2”

About the Strap:

*Note, this strap differs from the ‘Black Walnut V1’ seen here in that it features burnished glossy edges and more spacing between the buckle pin holes. This is a unique leather with a lustrous dark walnut brown tone. This is a soft and thick strap with a dark topside and dark finished edges. Thanks to the neutral tone and stitching, it pairs well with most any PAM case and dial color combo. Feel free to request different stitching colors, as this would look good with ivory white stitching as well.

Designed specifically for the 44mm Panerai Luminor case, this strap maintains a 24mm width throughout its entire length, the top side has a semi-gloss appearance, and the strap will definitely soften and darken in all the right areas with ongoing wear. Every strap collection should have at least one dark brown strap. The details are engineered to compliment the Luminor case, while also giving a nod to the early days of Panerai:

• The Build: A consistent 24mm profile featuring a pronounced tip and a 4.5mm thickness. The edges are smoothed and hand burnished to a shine, and the buckle holes are individually hand punched.

• The Stitching: Hand-finished in a traditional boxed pattern using a light brown high-tensile thread. The tone is selected to sit just a shade lighter than the leather. This creates a versatile aesthetic that pairs comfortably with black, white and tobacco dial Panerai Luminor models.

• Refined Edges: Each edge features a precise, soft crease, while the keepers are left plain to mirror the minimalist, functional elegance of classic early PAM straps.

• Hardware: I paired this strap with a black vintage curved pin buckle which is sewn in place. You may also select alternative hardware options from the drop-down menu.

Technical Specifications:

• Construction: Dual floating keepers (you really only need one), fold terminates at buckle side.

• Compatibility: While shown with the black vintage curved pin buckle, I can enlarge the pin holes for Panerai Luminor OEM buckle compatibility upon request—simply select “No Buckle” from the menu.

• Availability: In stock for the foreseeable future. However, once this hide is exhausted, it may be difficult to obtain more.

Additional Information: The 44mm Panerai Luminor is the workhorse of the Panerai lineup. Therefore, it offers the most flexibility for aftermarket strap creation. Larger 47mm cases often require thicker builds. In contrast, the 44mm Luminor works with different strap thicknesses, including modern takes on Panerai Pre-V straps.

When selecting thread and spacing, I consider both the leather’s thickness and temper. This way, I ensure comfort, balance, and durability. Most 24mm straps for 44mm Luminor models use a vintage-style Panerai pin buckle.

However, many straps in this section also feature alternative buckle options in the drop-down menus. My design approach includes dual wide keepers, box stitching, and thickness between 3.5 and 5.5mm. As a result, these features reflect the traditional proportions of Panerai Pre-V straps.

All 24mm straps for 44mm cases are 24/24mm without taper. By comparison, I reserve tapering for Radiomir models. For Luminor, I prefer longer buckle sides and shorter bottom sides. This creates visual balance and secure wrist fit. Stitching margins are thinner than on 47mm straps, consistent with Panerai Pre-V straps.

Finally, I craft every strap by hand using the same tools from my two decades as a boot maker. Each strap is unique.
