Description
About the Leather:Â This is a thick strap. Follow the golden rule for thicker builds and size up one or two lengths from your usual measurement. If you normally wear 125 / 80, consider 135 / 80 for proper wrap and comfort on the wrist.
Crafted from premium Italian vegetable-tanned leather in a classic light tan tone, this strap features a clean, natural surface with subtle grain and no artificial correction. With wear, the color will gradually deepen, developing a rich, warm patina that reflects real use rather than surface treatment. This is leather designed to mature, not deteriorate.
At 4.2mm thick, the strap delivers the structure required for a 47mm Panerai Luminor while maintaining a soft temper that conforms quickly to the wrist. It has enough mass to balance the larger case without feeling stiff or overbuilt. This strap molds naturally over time without collapsing.
I did the hand-stitching in a boxed pattern, giving the strap a more architectural presence suited to the bold lines of the Luminor case. This pattern reinforces stress points while adding disciplined contrast against the light tan leather. The strap includes one fixed keeper and one floating keeper for a secure, stable fit. Large circular holes enhance both adjustability and the unmistakable Panerai character, while the extended tip improves overall proportion on the 47mm case.
This version is cut 26mm wide throughout, maintaining a strong, uninterrupted profile from lug to buckle. I designed this strap to accept your OEM 26mm buckle, with additional buckle options available via the dropdown menu.
The edges are finished with a soft crease for refined definition, and the sides are hand burnished to a smooth semi-gloss finish. On 47mm Panerai Luminor models, the light tan tone complements the warmth of the dial and handset beautifully, creating a balanced and intentional look. If you want a substantial light-colored strap built specifically for the presence of a 47mm Luminor, this is the one.

Additional Information:Â For each Panerai model, I have a different design philosophy regarding straps. For the 47mm Luminor series case, as well as the Radiomir 1940 and the Submersible, my concept revolves around thickness and symmetry. When I create unique straps for the 47mm series cases, I take into account the overall thickness and temper of the leather I am working with, more so than with Radiomir or 44mm Luminor cases.
The 47mm Panerai case ships with a 26mm width strap. There is no escaping the mass of this case and strap combination. My designs for this case take into account several features, including the arches, curves, angles, and degrees of slope of the case and buckle. Instead of stepping away from or minimizing the bulk of the case, my goal is to embrace it. To reflect this, I work with thick leathers and make the straps for this model a minimum of 5.0mm thick on average.
Additionally, I like to make the strap keepers wide. I box stitch most 47mm Panerai straps for extra strength. On rare occasions, I may employ open-ended stitching. 47mm Panerai custom straps tend to be 5.0mm thick or greater. I usually utilize vintage-style stainless pin buckles that are sewn in place. These pin buckles work especially well for thicker straps. Vintage-style Panerai pin buckles also allow for narrower buckle holes. What’s more, for these 26mm-wide straps, I mostly employ thicker thread with a larger stitching margin. I adjust stitch spacing to be slightly wider than on my 44mm or Radiomir straps.
I perform the entire process by hand without templates or machines. Finally, as a result of the handmade nature of these straps, no two are identical.
