About the Leather:  This Cherry Cherry Red Radiomir strap reinterprets the original Luminor design for Panerai Radiomir models, keeping the same rugged character with a more elegant, tapered profile. Cut from oil-tanned burgundy leather, it has a soft temper and a smooth semi-matte finish that deepens in color and texture with wear. The strap measures 27mm at the lugs and tapers to 22mm at the buckle, with an overall thickness of about 4.2 mm—well balanced for the flowing case lines of the Radiomir.

Ivory white stitching in a clean boxed pattern highlights the richness of the leather without overpowering it. An OEM-style trapezoidal buckle is has been incorporated in this design. Other buckles are available from the drop down menu. If you wish to use your OEM buckle, simply select “no buckle” from the drop down menu. The build includes one fixed keeper and one floating keeper, both hand-creased for a controlled, refined finish.

Comfortable from day one and built for long-term use, this oil-tanned burgundy strap combines durability, flexibility, and understated character—an ideal match for the Radiomir’s softer, vintage-leaning design. Additional Information:  For each Panerai watch, I follow a different design philosophy when creating straps. The Radiomir is my historical favorite among all Panerai case designs. I bought my first Radiomir nearly two decades ago. I did not begin making straps for Radiomir models until many years later, as I neared retirement. The Radiomir is both fun and challenging when designing custom straps.

On larger Panerai cases in the 47mm range, I usually use thicker thread with wider spacing. For the Radiomir, I use a mix of thicker and thinner threads. I also combine both tight and wider stitch spacing. When choosing thread thickness and spacing, I consider the characteristics of the leather. As a general rule, my custom aftermarket Radiomir straps range from 3.5 to 5.0mm thick. The average strap thickness typically falls somewhere in the middle of that range.

Because of the wire lugs on most Radiomir cases, I prefer leathers with a softer, more pliable temper. From a design standpoint, I usually apply a taper of 27-22 or 26-22, depending on the leather. For larger 47mm Radiomir cases, such as the PAM323, I strongly recommend straps measuring 4.5mm thick or more. I have also designed custom aftermarket Radiomir straps specifically for 47mm cases. These designs feature a bolstered taper where the strap meets the case.
