Description
About the Leather: This strap is part of a newly redesigned series for the 44mm Luminor series. Key updates include a refined overall shape, with the fold moved to the buckle side. For this suede blue Panerai strap, I chose a distinctive calfskin leather with a matte dark blue finish and a light blue backing. The suede surface is hard to capture in photos, but in person it’s soft to the touch with the classic napped texture of true suede.
As you run your finger across it, the color shifts from dark to light and back again depending on direction—an effect unique to quality suede. The leather has a soft temper, allowing it to mold comfortably to the wrist. I used an aqua blue thread stitched in a boxed pattern, and finished the edges with a clean, soft crease.
This suede blue Panerai strap ispaired with a new interchangeable flat pin buckle. *This unique buckle is removable as it is held in place by a spring bar. This allows you to swap it out for your OEM Panerai buckle easily if you want to change the style or feel of the strap. Additionally, you can swap black and stainless buckles if you use the strap with other PAMs. The strap shown measures 125mm/80mm and has a solid medium thickness with a rugged, understated look. Shown here on the Panerai PAM00775—one of my personal favorites.

Additional Information: The 44mm Panerai Luminor is the true workhorse of the Panerai lineup, and by far has the most potential for aftermarket strap creation. While larger 47mm case models demand thicker straps, the 44mm Luminor case is more flexible and works with a variety of different strap thicknesses. With that in mind, I make most of my 44mm case Panerai straps with thinner thread. When I select the thread and spacing, I take into consideration the thickness and temper of the leather.
Most of my 24mm custom straps for 44mm Panerai models utilize a vintage Panerai style pin buckle. However, you will find that many straps in this section also have additional buckle options in the drop down menus above. My general design philosophy for 24mm straps is dual keepers of generous width. I use box stitching, and a thickness or 3.5 to 5.5mm depending on leather temper.
Finally, all of my 24mm Panerai straps for 44mm cases are 24/24mm, without a taper. The only tapered straps that I make are for Radiomir cases. Additionally, my design preferences for the 44mm Panerai case tend towards longer buckle sides and shorter bottom sides. Above all, the aim is to achieve as much balance as possible. Additionally, the stitching margins will be thinner on my 24mm Panerai straps than they are on my 47mm Panerai straps.
I pride myself in each aftermarket Panerai strap that I produce. I use the absolute basic tools, the same tools that I used as a boot maker for nearly two decades. In conclusion, as a result of the handmade nature of these straps, no two are identical.
