About the Leather: I carefully crafted this thick dark grey Panerai strap entirely by hand, from the first cut to the final stitch. As with all my straps, I focused on precision and detail at every step. I used robust oil-tanned leather with a matte surface to create a strap that suits 44mm Panerai models perfectly. At 24mm straight through, it balances the bold proportions of the Luminor case. To complete the design, I fitted it with a PVD black OEM-style engraved buckle for a sleek, authentic look (other buckle options available in the drop-down menu).
The dark grey tone echoes the muted sheen of magnetized steel, while the distressed edges bring out a lighter, contrasting shade. Its matte, non-porous finish adds a touch of water resistance, combining practicality with style. I stitched it with crisp white thread in a precise box pattern and added one fixed and one floating keeper. Subtle creasing along the edges gives the strap extra refinement.

Additional Information: The 44mm Panerai Luminor is the workhorse of the Panerai lineup. As a result, it offers the most flexibility for aftermarket strap creation. Larger 47mm cases often require thicker builds. By contrast, the 44mm Luminor works with different strap thicknesses, including modern takes on Panerai Pre-V straps.
When it comes to selecting thread and spacing, I consider both the leather’s thickness and temper. In this way, I ensure comfort, balance, and durability. Typically, most 24mm straps for 44mm Luminor models use a vintage-style Panerai pin buckle.
Nevertheless, many straps in this section also feature alternative buckle options in the drop-down menus. Moreover, my design approach includes dual wide keepers, box stitching, and thickness between 3.5 and 5.5mm. Consequently, these features reflect the traditional proportions of Panerai Pre-V straps.
All 24mm straps for 44mm cases are 24/24mm without taper. On the other hand, I reserve tapering for Radiomir models. For this reason, I prefer longer buckle sides and shorter bottom sides on Luminor models. Thus, this creates visual balance and secure wrist fit. In addition, stitching margins are thinner than on 47mm straps, consistent with Panerai Pre-V straps.
Ultimately, I craft every strap by hand using the same tools from my two decades as a boot maker. Because of this, each strap is unique.
