Description
About the Leather: This is a thick strap. As a rule, size up one or two lengths from your usual measurement. For example, if you normally wear 125 / 80, choose 135 / 80 for better wrap and comfort.
I craft this strap from premium Italian vegetable-tanned leather in a classic light tan tone. The surface shows clean, natural grain without artificial correction. Over time, the color deepens and develops a warm patina. Instead of wearing out, this leather matures and gains character.
At 4.2mm thick, it gives the structure a 44mm Panerai Luminor demands. Yet the soft temper allows it to conform quickly to your wrist. As a result, it balances the 44mm case without feeling stiff or bulky. Over time, it molds naturally and holds its shape.
For the stitching, I use a boxed pattern. This approach gives the strap a stronger, architectural look that suits the bold Luminor case. At the same time, the pattern reinforces stress points and adds disciplined contrast to the light tan leather. The strap includes one fixed keeper and one floating keeper for stability. In addition, large circular holes improve adjustability and preserve the classic Panerai character. Finally, the extended tip improves proportion on the 44mm case.
This version measures 24mm wide throughout. Because of this, the profile stays strong and uninterrupted from lug to buckle. I design it to accept your OEM 24mm buckle, and you can select additional buckle options from the dropdown menu.
Along the edges, I add a soft crease for clean definition. Then I hand burnish the sides to a smooth semi-gloss finish. On a 44mm Panerai Luminor, the light tan tone complements the warmth of the dial and hands. Ultimately, if you want a substantial light-colored strap built specifically for a 44mm Luminor, this is it.

Additional Information: The 44mm Panerai Luminor is the workhorse of the Panerai lineup. As a result, it offers the most flexibility for aftermarket strap creation. Larger 47mm cases often require thicker builds. By contrast, the 44mm Luminor works with different strap thicknesses, including modern takes on Panerai Pre-V straps.
When it comes to selecting thread and spacing, I consider both the leather’s thickness and temper. In this way, I ensure comfort, balance, and durability. Typically, most 24mm straps for 44mm Luminor models use a vintage-style Panerai pin buckle.
Nevertheless, many straps in this section also feature alternative buckle options in the drop-down menus. Moreover, my design approach includes dual wide keepers, box stitching, and thickness between 3.5 and 5.5mm. Consequently, these features reflect the traditional proportions of Panerai Pre-V straps.
All 24mm straps for 44mm cases are 24/24mm without taper. On the other hand, I reserve tapering for Radiomir models. For this reason, I prefer longer buckle sides and shorter bottom sides on Luminor models. Thus, this creates visual balance and secure wrist fit. In addition, stitching margins are thinner than on 47mm straps, consistent with Panerai Pre-V straps.
Ultimately, I craft every strap by hand using the same tools from my two decades as a boot maker. Because of this, each strap is unique.
