About the Leather: This rugged, handmade strap is full of texture and character, designed specifically for 44mm Panerai Luminor cases. Crafted from soft chrome-tanned leather, it reveals subtle variations of brown across its distinctive top layer. The strap has a soft temper, allowing it to conform comfortably to your wrist. I chose beige thread for the hand-stitched detailing, complementing the earthy tones and enhancing its artisanal appeal. It features one fixed keeper and one floating, with a soft crease accenting the edges for a refined finish.
The strap is paired with a brushed stainless steel vintage-style flat pin buckle, sewn securely in place as shown. Additional buckle options are available via the drop-down menu. The strap shown in the photos measures 130/80, but other lengths are also available. Each strap is carefully hand-punched to ensure precise pin buckle holes. The images show this handcrafted strap on the Panerai Luminor PAM00775. As with all straps on my site, you can select the “No Buckle” option to use your own OEM buckle instead. Additional Information: The 44mm Panerai Luminor is truly the workhorse of the Panerai lineup, and as such, it offers by far the most potential for aftermarket strap creation. While the larger 47mm case models demand thicker straps, by contrast, the 44mm Luminor case is more versatile and works well with a variety of strap thicknesses. For this reason, I craft most of my 44mm Panerai straps using thinner thread. When selecting the thread and spacing, I carefully take into account both the thickness and the temper of the leather to ensure the best result.
In most cases, my 24mm custom straps for 44mm Panerai models feature a vintage Panerai-style pin buckle. However, many straps in this section also include additional buckle options, which you can find in the drop-down menus above. When it comes to my general design philosophy for 24mm straps, I prefer dual keepers of generous width, combined with box stitching and a thickness ranging from 3.5mm to 5.5mm, depending on the temper of the leather.
Furthermore, all of my 24mm Panerai straps for 44mm cases are designed as 24/24mm, meaning they have no taper. The only exception is for Radiomir cases, for which I do make tapered straps. In addition, my design preferences for the 44mm Panerai case tend to favor longer buckle sides paired with shorter bottom sides. Above all, the goal is to achieve as much visual and functional balance as possible. Moreover, the stitching margins on my 24mm Panerai straps are intentionally thinner than those on my 47mm Panerai straps, to better suit the proportions of the 44mm case.
I take great pride in each aftermarket Panerai strap I produce. I continue to use the same basic tools that I relied on as a boot maker for nearly two decades. In conclusion, due to the handmade nature of these straps, no two are ever completely identical — each one carries its own unique character.
